Cancer is tragic physically and financially for those who must travel for care. Without discounting any of that fact, there's other diseases with similar impacts or worse. Very often residents in mid to large metro areas do have easier access to great facilities and physicians. Many more rare diseases don't have that opportunity for any proximate care. If I took anything from this article, it was to stop donating to St. Judes- as their promotions indicate they provide financial services

I donate each year to St Jude's...this article truly saddens me....don't know if I will donate again. I have not had a child with cancer..but I have had cancer myself and I know firsthand the cost associated with it...it is truly tremendous to say the least. I am a fortunate one with insurance and was retired when diagnosed. My concern is 90% have insurance that St Jude's bills...so surplus should somehow help families...after all that is why people such as me donate...or did.
