We already know that working out is good for your heart and your waistline. But it has another benefit: reducing your risk of breast cancer. A new study conducted by the American Cancer Society found that women who exercised 30–150 minutes a week were 50 times less likely to develop breast cancer, compared with women who exercised less than 30 minutes a week.

Even better news? African-American women who exercised 30–150 minutes were 70 times less likely to develop breast cancer.

Although these researchers saw benefits with just half an hour a week of working out, most experts suggest that we should be moderately active for 30 minutes or more, 3–5 days a week.
