Stephen Scheuermann, executive director of HIV/AIDS service organization Buddies of New Jersey, died January 3 of heart failure, NorthJersey.com reports. He was 62. He turned to volunteer work in the mid-’90s after 30 years in the retail sector, deploying his corporate experience to good effect in dealing with funding and logistical issues. Scheuermann had served as executive director since 2001. Buddies of New Jersey serves hundreds of clients in Bergen and Passaic counties.
