Snacking—if done correctly—may be a way to help control your weight, fill in nutrition gaps and up your intake of important fruits and vegetables, reports Cooking Light magazine. If you are going to snack in between meals, it is best to eat something before you get too hungry; otherwise, you may be tempted to over snack.  Also, although snacking is typically thought of us raiding the junk food pantry, replace the common chips and cookies for protein and fiber-filled snacks (like carrots with hummus dip, or whole grain cereals) to healthfully tide you over until mealtime.
