A new German study suggests that dry powder inhalers like Flovair Diskus and Advair Diskus for people living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a bronchial ailment usually caused by smoking, are more likely to be misused. Out of 224 newly diagnosed patients, researchers found that 32 percent were using the devices incorrectly. They found that people over 60 with severe COPD were more likely to make mistakes than younger patients. However, researchers found a significant decrease in user error after the patients were trained how to use the appliances properly.
