Protesters from the Latino HIV group Las Memorias demonstrated in front of The Ivy, an upscale Los Angeles restaurant accused of firing a busboy because he has HIV, NBCLosAngeles.com reports. Former busboy Reymundo Martinez, who was diagnosed with HIV in 2010, has filed a lawsuit against The Ivy, claiming that he was fired shortly after providing his manager with a doctor’s note from a local clinic known for treating HIV-positive patients. According to news reports, Martinez is currently unemployed and he lost his apartment and car after being fired.
