Sex workers who have safe and supportive housing are at less risk of being exposed to violence and HIV, according to a study by the British Columbia Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS and reported by The Province. Researchers interviewed 39 low-income drug-using female sex workers. The women said they had more control over the sexual transactions, including their ability to negotiate condom use, if they worked indoors.
