Can Whole-Grain Cereal Fight Diabetes?

Fiber in whole-grain cereals might lower a person’s risk of developing type 2 diabetes, according to a new study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine. People who ate the most fiber from cereal had an almost 30 percent lower risk of developing type 2 diabetes than people who ate the least amount of cereal fiber; however, there was no relationship found between diabetes and people who consumed fiber from other sources, like fruits and veggies.
