What kind of job would he have where HIV is a problem? Oh, I dunno, healthcare, food service, most blue collar organizations, virtually any small business where they want to cut costs, virtually any office where you live and die by your reputation...pretty much eveywhere but a government/NGO/huge company. What excuse could they use? In "at will" states, it could be anything. Arbitrary "performance" issues. "Misrepresentation of timecards" from 17 months prior. "Creative differences".
Mr. Sex Ed you my have a point for the In Home Rapid HIV Screening Kits that are coming to the drug stores in a couple of months forsale, where people can test themselves and completly confidenal. I hope the community is talking about this new technology and prepare to show some love and compassion. I think it is going to be a great tool to bring up HIV and Honest Sexual Relationship at the diner table and in coffee shops and hope the conversation are focused on manhood with honor and intergety.
Healthy? having HIV doesn't mean you are not healthy. What does it actually mean to be healthy? Just another news story made sensational for nothing
This article caught my attention! I am concerned that even in today's world an HIV test, regardles of its outcome/result, can still lead to potential stigmitization and discrimination. To me, this would be a better angle to help promote HIV testing and address public health instead of the hype of an incomplete and probably somewhat confusing story(and reporter).
Don't belief he was false-positiv. Such consequences won't happen after a false positiv test. Remember the many people who died of AIDS but on their funeral it was Cancer/hartfailure.
What kind of job did he do that his being positive would be a problem? Wonder what excuse they gave for firing him. How sad in this day and time people are still dealing with this form of extreme discrimination. Wish him all the best in getting his name and info removed.
There is obviously a lot more to this story than is being reported.

Sue, sue, sue... there are precedences for false outcome. And if one loses ones partner, job, etc, it get's further than just an emotional blow, this amounts to direct threat to your most existential needs...
