World AiArthritis Day
While there are other awareness days for larger disease groups (autoimmune disease month, World Arthritis Day, Rare Disease Day, etc.), there is also a need to drive attention to the 300 million people worldwide already diagnosed with at least one autoimmune or autoinflammatory disease where the arthritis is a major clinical component. Confusion regarding arthritis types, particularly the type associated with having an autoimmune or autoinflammatory disease, leads to relationship conflicts, delayed diagnosis, compromised quality of life, and elevated healthcare costs. We must drive more awareness about these diseases, and the type of arthritis associated with them, so the estimated 450 million adults and children worldwide living with them can have better outcomes. For these reasons, World AUTOimmune & AUTOinflammatory Arthritis Day was established by our nonprofit in 2012. Annually dozens of nonprofits, companies, and people affected by these diseases unite to raise awareness by using an AUTOmobile theme.
