Adults Living with a Mental Health Condition Support Group


NAMI Connection is a free recovery support group for adults living with a mental health condition. 2nd and 4th Monday of each month from 6:30 to 7:30 PM in Butterworth Center, Craft Room. Use parking lot at 8th St. and 11th Ave. WHAT YOU’LL GAIN: By sharing your experiences in a safe and confidential setting, you will gain hope and develop relationships. The group encourages empathy, productive discussion and a sense of community. This group will help you to: ~See the individual first, not the condition ~Recognize that mental illnesses are medical illnesses that have environmental triggers ~Understand that mental illness are traumatic events ~Aim for better coping skills ~Find strength in sharing experiences ~Reject stigma and not tolerate discrimination ~Not judge anyone’s pain ~Forgive ourselves and reject guilt ~Embrace humor as healthy ~Accept that we can not solve every problem NAMI Support Groups are unique because they follow a structured model to ensure you and others in the group have an opportunity to be heard and to get what you need. The group is led by trained facilitators who also have a mental health condition.
