America's three most hated groups -- gays, Blacks, addicts -- can drop dead as far as the Alt-Right is concerned. Most, if not all, recently infected people still are from these populations and poor and uninsured. Perhaps Ryan White medication funds are tax dollars redirected to benefit Big Pharma and Big Medical THROUGH HIV+ folks but not necessarily FOR HIV+ folks? Are Big P and Big M also big campaign contributors? If so, when they complain is when D.C. politicians will listen.
To the obvious Trump-lovers and fact-deniers below: I can only speak for myself, but I try to evaluate each political situation on its merits, not on whether my political party supports or opposes it. In other words, as a registered Democrat, I would support a Republican president who passed a health care bill requiring everyone to purchase coverage. And I would oppose a Democratic president who took HIV funds from Ryan White and used them to separate immigrant families. #IssuesOverIdealogy!
Why do you find it helpful to play the same game as the media? You are making up stories because you don't like someone's politics. All you are doing is hurting the people you are supposed to be helping. I turned to poz when I was diagnosed for info and support. At first it helped. Now your true colors are showing. The only think you care about is your political beliefs. HIV doesn't care what your beliefs are. Try doing something positive instead of making up stories for your own gain.
OMG, please stop with the sensationalism!!! Some times you must pocket your politics and look at what is good for the many and not the few. In taking care of the many the few is helped!!! If it was a Republican President that told you you had to purchase insurance you would have been howling like a dog in heat. I do not remember this mag saying nothing about the 44th President doing the same thing. Yes, this has been going on since 1998. You are just to cynical to look back and see.
Astounding. I want to hear a response from the Director of the CDC, Dr. Robert Ray Redfield Jr. I want to hear a response from the Surgeon General of the United States, Dr. Jerome Adams. And I want to hear a response from Dr. Francis Collins, the Director of the National Institute of Health. Finally, I want our Vice President to take a stand on this decision.
