This early halting of the study brings validation to hundreds of healthcare workers who have been performing these procedures for decades without prior validation. Kudos to Drs. Palefsky, the entire UCSF Anal Dysplasia Team, and Dr. Goldstone for championing this lifesaving technique for the last 30 years. GET YOUR PAP SMEAR. its that simple. Your HIV provider no longer has any excuse to not be performing routine Anal Pap smear surveillance every year

This is a very helpful article. I guess I'm lucky and blessed to have such great healthcare providers. Late 2019 I had my colonoscopy and my doc found some polyps and another growth. He cut out the polyps and referred me to a colorectal specialist who cut out the other growth and analyzed it. It turned out to be non cancerous. The specialist then sent me to his partner who specializes in the ultraviolent screening in the anus for cancer. He suggested I return every six months for screening.
