Residents of greater Nashville have something to be proud of: The My House Clinic opens September 1 and provides a full array of HIV prevention and care along with the testing and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and hepatitis C plus COVID-19 testing. The one-stop clinic also offers an on-site pharmacy, full lab services, telehealth and assistance with insurance paperwork.

The clinic, a partnership between AIDS service organization Nashville CARES and Positively Living & Choice Health Network, is part of the My House community and wellness center for same-gender-loving men of color.

According to a press release announcing the opening, the clinic operates under the moniker PRIDE, which stands for “Promotes Respect Inclusion & Dignity for Everyone.”

“My House is creating access to culturally competent primary and HIV care for the LGBTQ+ community and the community at large, at a time when Nashville certainly needs this expanded access,” said Christopher Ott, MD, chief medical officer for HCA Healthcare Physician Services Group and board chair for Nashville CARES.

The opening of My House Clinic arrives as Nashville CARES, which has served over 50,000 people in middle Tennessee, celebrates its 35th anniversary.

“Since opening our Choice Health Network medical clinic in 2018,” said Steve Jenkins, CEO of Positively Living & Choice Health Network, in the press release, “Positively Living has been on the lookout for robust, like-minded organizations who share our values and vision for expanding access to inclusive, trauma-informed health care. Nashville CARES is a perfect partner and we are incredibly excited for the opportunity to work with them. We look forward to supporting their success in providing preventative and lifesaving medication and medical services to Middle Tennessee’s most vulnerable residents.”
