My mother is a heterosexual, latina, age 81 and has been living with HIV since the 80's. She was diagnosed in 1989 and believe she contracted it in 1983. She has had 5 strokes/seizures and is now living with me in hospice. She is unbelievably strong, resilient, beautiful, and a proud woman.
