Whatever happened with that guy in Brazil that was cured? I have never seen anymore on that.
Semantics maybe, but this lady's body resisted HIV from getting a firm foothold from the start. Her body was always ahead of HIV and it still is. And long be it so. It's not a case that HIV began to harm her body and then her body fought back to cure her. Her body was always on top - so no cure happened. She was winning from the start. Bless her.
I met Loreen at the airport one day and had a number of follow up convos with her thereafter and it is my experience that Loreen is an amazingly service oriented person and I’m very pleased to read this article. Just to get all funky granola on ya but sometimes it seems the universe knows what it’s doing. Sometimes anyway...
I've read her story before. This doesn't surprise me coming from an elite controller. I'd still rather have the virus completely flushed out rather than locked down, but beggars can't be choosers. I had a friend that was exposed to HIV on an every other day basis for a decade until his lover began medications, but he's still negative. We later found out that he has Lupus. Some immune systems are just able to thwart the virus. I don't want Lupus, but he's lucky to avoid HIV.

This is a fascinating article. HIV has become a game changer for the medical field. From the first studies aiming to find a way to treat HIV to the search for a covid vaccine, HIV research has led to some amazing discoveries in treating various medical challenges. How do people learn they are part of this small group of HIV ass kickers? I've been pos since 21, I'm now 49. I've always been undetectable and my tcells are over 1000, I take my meds faithfully and never skip a dose. #HIVisNOTaCRIME
