Hey TXKeith, what an extremely stupid and thoughtless thing to say. Gay people have never said it is a gay disease, straight people gave it that title back in the 1980s. But, when 70% of new HIV cases every year in the U.S. are gay people (according to the CDC) then I think our community deserves a mention, don't you think? Is that really irrational to expect that? Or, is that too complicated for you to understand?

Okay, is it a "gay disease" or not? If not, why be upset that "gays" are not mentioned. You people are so insanely irrational.

Total agreement with YuriG! I'm southern, positive and gay. World AIDS Day is about recognition of a disease that affects every gender, sexual orientation, and every nation on this planet. I don't like Pence's stand on homosexaulity. And I also don't need him to single out the gay community on World AIDS Day to make me feel better. THAT WOULD BE THE CHARADE! Most informed people are cognizant of the impact HIV has had on the gay community; and also, our role in working to eradicate it.

Very well said Mr Pence. Excellent message. It was definitely not a charade but as we have come to know you, straight from your heart and you mean every word you say. Thank you for your leadership and please ignore the radical liberals who do not have one single word in their vocabulary to acknowledge your work and leadership. A usual its all about themselves and their political agenda. K Keep on making America great again and be a beacon of hope for the rest of the world.

My stomach turned at watching this with the realization that there is not a word here that speaks to what needs to be done to end the epidemic. Not a word about which communities have been hard hit and continue to be hard hit. Not a word about the burden of HIV on people living with HIV. Not a words about anything but faith, faith, faith, faith, faith, On Workd AIDS Day the Canadian government endorsed U=U. The US government endorsed God. I know which governmrnt I respect.

We all know that AIDS is not a "gay disease". God knows we fought against this discriminatory view from the beginning of the epidemic, and now , of course, the same standard does not apply. Instead of welcoming the administration's broad approach and resolve to help to eradicate AIDS amongst all our brothers in the world we want to be singled out as special victims deserving special attention. On the day of remembrance and celebration of our victories we ought to welcome all in the common fight.
