The AIDS Task Force of Greater Cleveland experienced a major setback in its plans for the 24th annual Cleveland Pride parade when the truck driver sent to tow the group’s float allegedly yelled obscenities and drove off to avoid participating in the parade, Fox 8 Cleveland reports. When the driver departed with the truck and trailer donated by a local company, the float organizers scrambled to find a replacement truck. They used the driver’s offensive behavior as a teachable moment about LGBT-related discrimination and prejudice—and they eventually won first prize for best float.
