Stop Drinking So Much (Water!)

For years, health gurus have been telling you to drink eight glasses of water a day to clear toxins, keep the weight off and maintain good skin tone. But a new report in the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology concludes that there is no scientific evidence to support the eight-glass requirement. "There is what I call an urban myth that drinking a lot of water is a healthy thing to do and it leads to people toting around plastic water bottles all day drinking water," Dr. Stanley Goldfarb, one of the head researchers, told Reuters.

Which doesn’t mean you shouldn’t stay hydrated, especially during warm days and while exercising.  There is scientific evidence, meanwhile, to support that drinking soda—diet and regular—is not only bad for your kidneys but can increase your risk for heart disease. So drink wisely.
