Was your bundle of joy born early? If so, consider these tips on caring for your little one. They’re from The Nemours Foundation, one of the nation’s largest nonprofits dedicated to children’s health, and were reported by HealthDay News.

•    Decrease the baby’s exposure to potential infections by keeping your infant home for several weeks, not including doctor visits.
•    Schedule doctor appointments during off hours, or request a more private waiting room.
•    Limit visitors, and keep sick people away from your baby.
•    Ask visitors to wash their hands before touching the baby.
•    Ensure your baby gets plenty of sleep. (Always place the child on his or her back.)
•    Feed your preemie at least every four hours, generally 8 to 10 feedings per day.
