Mark Dybul Is New Executive Director of the Global Fund
Ambassador Mark R. Dybul, MD, the former United States global
AIDS coordinator, has been appointed as the new executive director of the
Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, according to a Global Fund
statement. Under President George W. Bush, he helped create and then led the
President’s Emergency Program for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). His most recent
position was codirector of the Global Health Law Program at the O’Neill Institute
for National and Global Health Law at Georgetown University. Before PEPFAR,
Dybul was a staff clinician at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious
Diseases.
