Wanna Live Longer? Then Stay Active, Calm and Organized
We know that a healthy diet and an active lifestyle are key to living longer and being healthy, but a new study from the National Institute on Aging suggests that staying calm can also increase longevity. Researchers found that people who are more active and energetic are less likely to become angry or anxious; are better informed, disciplined and organized; and tend to live longer. Among women, higher assertiveness was also linked to a lower risk of death.
Among the study participants who died of cardiovascular diseases, the most significant predictors of death were traits indicating emotional instability, such as anxiousness, depression, vulnerability and anger.
