New Recommendation: All Kids Should Get the Flu Vaccine

The Advisory Committee of Immunization Practices is recommending that all children—except infants under 6 months and those with serious allergies—should receive annual flu shots. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) backs the recommendations. This decision means that 30 million more children in the U.S. could end up getting vaccinated—the largest vaccination expansion in history.

Children ages 5–18 come down with the flu more than other age groups. Experts claim that getting children vaccinated, could not only protect their health, but the health of their parents, the elderly and other adults.

Talk to your child’s pediatrician or health care practioner about getting a flu shot.
