The Breakfast Club

Teens who regularly eat breakfast tend to lead healthier lifestyles and weigh less than those who do not, according to new research.

Researchers examined more than 2,000 youth in Minnesota over a five-year period. They found that the more regularly teens ate breakfast, the lower their body mass index. The researchers also revealed that teens who regularly ate the “most important meal of the day” tended to exercise more and have a healthier diet than those who skipped breakfast.

According to the study, about a quarter of U.S. children regularly skip breakfast. Click here for tips on healthy, youth-friendly breakfast options.
