HIV Hits Young Black Adults Hardest

June 6, 2006—The HIV rate among non-Hispanic blacks between 19 and 24 is 20 times higher than among other young U.S. adults, according to a study in the American Journal of Public Health. This is the first HIV study to sample a broad range of adults, including high risk groups; earlier studies relied on cases reported to the Centers for Disease Control.
