Pregnant Moms: More Vitamin D Please

A recent report suggests that pregnant women who consume low levels of vitamin D can increase their baby’s risk for tooth enamel defects and early childhood tooth decay. Researchers from Canada’s University of Manitoba found that among the study’s participants, only 10.5 percent of women in their second trimester received the adequate levels of vitamin D.

Experts suggest adding more vitamin D to your diet via prenatal supplements and drinking more milk. We suggest you read our feature “On Fertile Ground.”Also, check out www.expectantmothersguide.com for tips on building a healthy body for you and your baby.
