Being a Little Overweight Is Not That Bad?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggest in a recent study that being 20 pounds overweight (BMI of 25-30) will not raise the risk for dying of cancer or heart disease. But before you breathe a sigh of relief, overweight people have a higher chance of dying of diabetes and kidney disease. And those who are more than 30 pounds overweight (BMI over 30) are more likely to die of all four. Your best bet? Get your BMI between the ranges of 18.5-24.9 by moderate exercise, strength training and eating healthier.
