Empowering Everyday Women Online, an online magazine geared toward
Christian African-American women, is asking its readers, "Is HIV/AIDS
viewed as a black thing?" The magazine’s editor-in-chief, Dianna
Hobbes, hopes that asking the question will raise HIV awareness among
her readers.
The
question was sparked by Senator Hilary Clinton's (D-NY) comment at a
presidential campaign debate that "If AIDS were the number one killer
among white women, this country would be outraged.”
