Folic Acid Supplements Drop Stroke Risk

Researchers have found that taking folic acid supplements may reduce a person’s risk of having a stroke. Folic acid supplements, which lower the levels of homocysteine (an amino acid believed to raise stroke risk) in the blood, could reduce a person’s chance of a stroke by 18 percent, according to Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine researchers.
