Does Obesity Make Girls Mature Too Soon?

Childhood obesity may be linked to earlier puberty in young girls, according to a new study from researchers at the University of Michigan.  Young girls in the study with large increases of body fat between the age of three and the start of first grade had higher instances of earlier puberty (which was defined as the occurence of breast development by the age of nine).
